Mittens the kitten wants to help Nick get ready for Halloween. But when Mittens tries to paint spooky faces, put up spooky cobwebs, and make orange cookies, he makes a mess instead! Halloween activities take center stage in this sweet beginning reader about Mittens.
This My First I Can Read Book is perfect for shared reading with toddlers and very young children. Basic language, word repetition, and whimsical illustrations make this book just right for the emergent reader.
It's Halloween and Mittens wants to help Nick get ready for it. Only problem is, when ever she tries to help him, she ends up making a bigger mess. Whether making cookies, or carving pumpkins, things don't turn out quite like she tries to make them. That is, until the decorating. Thanks to Mittens, Nick has a really cool Halloween decoration hanging up outside.

This is a great earlier reader. With easy to read words, repetition and cute illustrations, early readers will enjoy reading about Mittens, and the fun that's had at Halloween. It also makes a great read out loud for story time or one on one reading.

  1. Eee, kitty book :D But aw, I'm sorry it wasn't all that awesome. But yay for still enjoying it. <3 I hope that all the illustrations were adorable, at least :)

I would be most content if my children grew up to be the kind of people who think decorating consists mostly of building enough bookshelves. ~ Anna Quindlen

Good children's literature appeals not only to
the child in the adult, but to the adult in the child.
